Chapter 12
• Explain what the last sentence in the book means. "Not one thing in the world is wrong."
• Write an ending for the book that is different than the one the author created.
• Caleb shared his worries. What worries do you have?
Not one thing in the world is wrong means since Papa and Grandfather made up now there a happy family and there is no fighting. Now Papa and Grandfather love each other there is no more fighting and everything is great. Grandfather is getting a lot better at reading and writing that now he has his own journal and I sometimes see him writing in it.Soon Anna will be back and I can't wait to see her because when she gets here our family will be complete. Some worries that I have are what if I get a bad grade on something or what if I get in trouble for doing something wrong.
1. That means that she thinks right now every in her life turned out fine and she won’t have to worry about anything for now. 2. If I were the author I would have made Papa and Grandfather forgive each other earlier because in the book the fighting went on and on. I would also change when Sarah almost dies. I would have Cassie be awake and she would be asking “Is she okay? Is she okay? Is she okay?” 3. I worry that my dog is going to die soon because she is really old and doesn’t run much anymore. She lays down all the time now.
1. This was said by Sarah because in the end, Papa and John become son and father friendly. So, when Cassie comes and ask Sarah: "What's wrong?!?! Sarah simply replies nothing is wrong because there are no more problems on the Witting farm. 2. My different ending in the book is the following sentences. Suddenly, Sarah gets up and says: "Speaking of Anna, where is she? She was supposed to come back today!!! Everyone gets very worried. She might get stuck in the snow like me! I thought (Caleb). There was a knock on the door and their she was. " Anna! we all screamed in chorus. Anna developed a sickness we could handle thanks to grandfather. This family is complete......... for now. ( Diary piece from the dairy.) 3.The worries that I can get involve matter such as sickness in my family, I can, hurricanes that might hit a place where a friend lives, and not getting to see my best friends.
1. It means that everything is back to normal, and everything will be fine because Grandfather and Papa are family again.
2. A bad ending would be that Sarah did freeze, and that Papa's foot would not be healed. So that means Papa goes to Sam for about 1 month and Grandfather takes care of Caleb and Cassie.
3. I have a few worries, but there topiced on getting in trouble. I worry that I will do something bad and face the consequences. Also I worry that I will make the wrong decision and head the right road instead of the left.
It means that everything in life is good and fair. Life is well.
Papa and Grandfather never made up so, Grandfather had to leave. He never wrote in the book I gave him. There is sadness in the house. What Sarah told Cassie, Not one thing in the world is wrong, is wrong.
1. It means that everything is fine in the house it means that grandfather, Sarah, papa, Caleb and Cassie are now a family. 2. I would write something like "Cassie said We are one big happy family" or something like that. 3. I have worries that in the next book maybe something will happen that will split the Witting family apart maybe a loss of life.
• What does Caleb mean, “Not one thing in the world is wrong.”? Jacob is going to be okay, Cassie is as stubborn, curious, and playful as ever, Grandfather is staying, at least for the time being, and well I don’t know if Caleb is happy about this , but I know I would be, Anna and Justin are coming home so Caleb can tease Anna again!!! Yay!!! It’s the perfect life.
• Papa didn’t forgive Grandfather. And just like that, my whole world toppled over. Grandfather left. Cassie cried (I couldn’t bear to see the little girl unhappy). Sarah started to resent Papa. Papa and I went outside to do some chores and when we came back in, we found a note. It said:
You should forgiven John, Jacob. He is your father. When you lost him, you lost Cassie and me. From Your Ex-wife, Sarah Wheaton
Papa Cried day after day. We went to town and put up missing posters. No one answered. We placed an ad in the newspaper. Still no fruit. Then came a letter in the mail. This one said:
If you want me back, apologize to John. He’s staying somewhere in town. Accept him back. Then have him write a letter to me. Caleb taught him how to read and write. My address is 1795 Seal Lane, Stilton Rivers, ME.
From, Sarah Wheaton
We found Grandfather!!! Anna helped, too. She’s the one that found him. He accepted Papa’s apology, but didn’t come home. He did (with my help), write a letter to Sarah.
Sarah wrote back and said she will arrive just as she had before in one week’s time wearing a yellow bonnet at about 4:00 in the afternoon.
Papa and I spent the night before Sarah's arrival cleaning the house. We arrived at the station at 2:00. Just in time to see Maggie and Matthew get off the train with not 3, or 4, 5 kids!!! We gave them a hardy welcome and saw them off. It was 5:00 and Sarah still hadn’t arrived. We were about to leave when we heard a, “Papa, Caleb? Is that you?” It was Cassie!!! I turned hard on my heel and ran right into William, Sarah, and the Aunts!!! It was the best day of my life!!! When Sarah asked where Grandfather was, we told her the whole story. At the end, Papa got on his hands and knees and said, “Sarah, Don’t leave us again.” Sarah just gave a hardy laugh. “Leave you? And go where?”
Grandfather came back! The Aunts and William stayed for a while. Then left. Anna came back home! She asked about my journals and I showed them to her. She marveled at what a great writer I was. I was a bit shy, and a maybe a teensy, weensy bit embarrassed.
The last sentence in the book means that if your in a bad situation, in terrible weather, or anything else, no matter what, not one thing in the world is wrong and everything will be alright. The kitchen is filled of food and people, and everyone smiling. Grandfather is staying and started writing in the journal I gave him; however I can't read it yet because it's private. There are storms, winds, and winter is staying longer; but there will not be one thing in the world that is wrong. I worry about my brother at Georgia Tech in Atlanta because he told me at night it may not be safe in the city. I worry I don't get to see him a lot now. I also worry about all my homework to do with school, piano, Chinese, and art classes.
It means that whatever you do thats good or bad, its nothing wrong. You also sometimes shouldn't fault whatever happened to you or somebody else.
Anna comes back and everyone has a wonderful time, whatever happened. They all were happy, and grandfather showed that he knew how to write.
I'm sometimes worried that I might not have done good on a test, but I still don't become upset after. I get scared when there are hurricanes or tornadoes nearby or affecting some place.
The ending means that everything is perfect and nothing is wrong. My New ending is that grandma (Granfather's wife) comes and there is a great and happy reunion.
I think it means that there used to be hard times just days ago but now everyone is happy.I think a different ending for Caleb's Story would be " There is much more happiness in the house now. Everybody is happy and they are glad that soon Anna, Sam, and Justin will come driving down the road.Sarah was right. Not one thing in this world is wrong. My worries are that my little brother will get run over by a car, my mom or dad will get in a car accident, lightning will strike our house, I will not get things done in time for school, Buddy, Pugsley, Bella, Starlight, Matani, and Cookie (my stuffed animals) will get caught if our house burns down.
1. Something might be wrong, but they are so joyous and happy that to them, nothing is wrong. 2. I sometimes make worst case scenarios, so maybe they couldn’t dig Sarah out of the snow. Or maybe Justin did not return from war. Grandfather could have left. His bags where packed. 3. I worry that I will do a crazy trick on my bike and fall off.
I think the sentence “Not one thing in the world is wrong” means that the are really happy and think that, literally not one thing is wrong.
I think that they could have ended the book by Papa and Grandfather getting over the fact that he left for a long time because he is back now and that’s all that matters.
I’m worried that my dog, Mango is going to die soon because she has pneumonia.
I think they mean that the war is over, papa and grandfather are finally getting along, and the drought is over so the world problems and their family's problems are solved.
I think Anna will now be very happy about Justin coming home. Grandfather is happy too. Papa and grandfather are finally getting along. And not one thing in the world is wrong.
I sometimes worry that when I am in the woods, there will be a spider or snake I won`t see, and maybe step on it or run into it.
Not one thing in the world is wrong means.... .Everything is peaceful and wright .Not one thing is bad If I could make a different ending I would .Have papa and grandfather forgive at the beginning and at the end make it an cliff hanger or what happens next and they start fighting. What do I worrie about? I worrie about.... .my mom and dad being divorced .Me dying in a burning house .Having a nightmire . anything that involes me or my family dying
1Grandfather and Papa are alike because they both love the same things. THey both love their land, their family, and most importantly, their life. 2.I think that after Sarah freezes, Justin and Anna are going to want to be more like her and move to Maine and try somethinfg different and instead of farming, they go fishing with William. They are happy and successful with their choices and become rich. 3.One of my worries are that my family will never get to sell my house and move to California. If that happens, then I will hardly ever get to see my Father, because he works there. That is happening right now, actually because I couldn't sell my house last year.
What "nothing in the world is wrong" means is that Caleb is still in this little bubble that he thinks that everything in the world is happy and peaceful? Well he's wrong. There are very nice things happening at the house, but there are things going on in the world that can be evil. Anna could've caught Influenza, Jacob could have been K.I.A (killed in action), Grandfather could have left, and Sarah could have died in the snow. The list keeps going on and on. My worries are that my Granddaddy will die. He can live an unhealthy lifestyle. He chews tobacco, he doesn't want to communicate anymore, and he doesn't want to come along with you anymore. It worries me.
