Chapter 2

Do some research on influenza, and share some facts with me on how I can stay safe this winter. (Please do not cut and paste a long article. Put it into your language.)

  1. Influenza (the flu) is a severe disease caused by the RNA virus, so stay away from people that are coughing, sneezing and bird dropings witch carrys the RNA virus.

  2. You do not have to worry. Adults typically do not get influenza but if you want to be Mr. Safety you can watch out for anybody that is coughing or sneezing. Mammals and birds are the only type of species that can get influenza. So also watch out for bird droppings. This is another way you can get influenza. Follow these steps and you probally won't get influenza.

  3. Influenza, commonly known as the flu, is a disease of birds and mammals caused by rna viruses.The flu can occasionally lead to pneumonia (another disease). It affects all ages, although kids tend to get it more often than adults. The flu season runs from October to May.The flu is spread by virus-infected droplets that are coughed or sneezed into the air.

  5. Some facts I learned about influenza is that there is over 15 different dieases for it, for example; headace, coughing, fever, and even vomiting. If that didn't shock you, how about this. Three to five MILLION yearly cases of severe illness and about 36,000 yearly DEATHS. I finnaly found out to prevent influenza that you should cover your mouth and nose and to not touch people. Also that you should wash your hands alot.

    2. stay home if you’re sick so that others don’t get sick
    3. when you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth or nose
    4. wash your hands regularly to prevent germs
    5. DO NOT touch your eyes, mouth, or nose germs could then get into your system
    6. get as much sleep and exercise as possible, eat right, drink a lot of HEALTHY fluids, maintain your stress, and eat right

  7. Influenza is now often called the flu. Some of the symptoms you may have if you have influenza are chills, a bad fever, a soar throught, some muscle pains, or a headache. If you have this sickness, then you are constantly uncomfortable. Often times, your flu may lead to pneamonia. You may never know that you have it until it starts getting really bad. I am so glad that I do not have Influenza. Or do I?

  8. They have a vaccination for influenza so that helps . To to stay safe you have to know what it is it's a contagious viral infection of the lung passages causing fever and severe aching. So to avoid it you have good personal health and hygiene habits such as: not touching your eyes, nose or mouth with frequent hand washing (with soap and water).

    1. Get vaccinated every year.
    2. Avoid physical contact with people who have the flu.
    3. Wash your hands as much as possible.
    4. Eat and sleep well.
    5. Make sure people in your family get vaccinated so that they won’t pass it to you.

  11. Influenza is the long and old fasion way of saying the "flu." The flu canges every year, so you can get a flu shot. Inside the vacine their is a sample of the flu that is dead or weackend. It's basically a test for your immune sistem, so it's ready for influeza. Always wash your hands before and after you eat, and after you touch something drity, and blow your nose. Follow all these step to be influeza free!

  12. Influenza is well known as the flu, and caught from animal diseases or your friends and family. It is very contagious and there are many shots to protect yourself. I have gotten it once and unlike chicken pox, you can have it many many times.

    Second, be sure to wash your hands after touching something dirty and full of germs. Stay away from anyone sick, unless it is not contagious. Third, don't touch your eyes, mouth or nose this is how germs spread.

  15. Influenza is the sixth worst disease for causing death among American adults. Every year about 36,000 people die from influenza and 114,000 are hospitalized! Influenza is a contagious disease that is spread by coughing, sneezing and with objects that carry the virus such as doorknobs and telephones. Influenza produces fever, headache and body aches. The influenza vaccine cannot cause this disease.

    1. Influenza is a respiratory (lungs/breathing) illness
    2. Caused by influenza viruses
    3. At times can lead to death, mostly happens to older people and people with weakened immune systems
    4. Best way to prevent the flu is by getting the flu shot each year

    He can stay safe this winter by washing his hands a lot and wearing proper clothing.

  17. Influenza is known as the flu and has common symptoms, which are fever, sore throat, coughing, headache, etc. It's a disease for animals and people. Influenza has a chance to produce vomiting, especially children. You can probably stay healthy, keep warm inside your house, and don't get too close to animals.

  18. Influenza is a disease (Similar to the flu) that you catch by getting to cold, or it gets passed on by someone else. 250,000 to 500,000 die yearly because of this disease. It is common to get it, but deaths are rare. This was said in the story because the man was cold… Really cold...

  19. i do not get the influenza shot beacause mom dose not beliv in them.influenza is usaly called the flu. if you have it at a older age not close to you mr.smit and a baby age you have thre most chence of dying.

  20. Influenza, also known as the flu, is a virus that is caused by RNA viruses. This disease can lead to Pneumonia. People that live a healthy life still have a chance of catching Pneumonia. That is why some people think that Influenza kills you because of lung diagnoses, it really is the Pneumonia. So, you have to avoid the flu of course. The best way to avoid this deadly virus, is to get the annual vaccine. If you have a weakened immune system, like having Diabetes (like me) for example, you need to avoid this at all costs because if you catch this, well you better say your blessing.
